The Nigerian Senate has commenced a debate on issues hovering on the general principles of the 2022 budget.

The commencement of the debate was announced by President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan on Tuesday.

Lawan, who presided over the plenary session on Tuesday, noted that the debate would be concluded on Wednesday.

Recall that President General Muhammadu Buhari presented the 2022 appropriation budget to a joint sitting of the National Assembly on Thursday last week.

The bill was titled: “A bill for an Act to authorize the issuance from the Consolidated Revenue Fund, the total sum of N16.391, 023, 917,692, etc.”

Meanwhile, the Senate on Tuesday approved for the Independent National Electoral Commission to transmit electoral results electronically.
