Fire Guts Rize FM Building, Destroys Equipment Worth Over N250m in Delta | Daily Report Nigeria

The building of Rize FM 106.7, a popular radio station in Warri, Delta state was on Thursday gutted by fire.

The outbreak was confirmed in a statement by the Head of Station, Laju Awala.

Lawal noted that the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, October 14.

He said the fire caused the destruction of equipment worth over N250 million as the entire top of the building was consumed by the inferno.

He said. “the inferno razed down the entire top floor of the building housing all three studios of the organization, the transmitting room, all broadcasting equipment, the news, and current affairs department, all computer system and other major offices and property of the organization estimated at over N250m.”

The Management thanked men of the Delta State Fire Service and Shell Fire Service as well as friends of the station who esponded to distress calls and worked collectively to put the fire off.

Continuing, the management said that efforts were ongoing to get the station back on air and appealed for support from members of the public and organizations in all possible ways to enable Rize FM to continue to blaze the trail of positivity.

Furthermore, the radio station appealed to clients specifically and listeners generally to be patient in these challenging times, adding that “by the grace of God, this challenge will only be for a short time.”

“We shall bounce back stronger and better,” he added.
