Villareal boss, Unai Emery has given an update about Samuel Chukwueze’s recent form following a 2-0 defeat to Valencia on Sunday.
The former Arsenal manager has stated that the Super Eagles’ winger has not yet returned to his best form.
The 22-year-old picked up an injury against Arsenal in May and just recovered last month.

After five months out of action, the left-footed winger was seen back on the pitch against Young boys.

Following his return, he has since made four appearances and scored only one goal in a 4-1 win against Young Boys.
Chukwueze found the net after coming off the bench to replace Arnaut Danjuma in the 89th minute of the Champions League tie with David Wagner’s side on the 20th of October.
However, Emery revealed that the injury has taken a bit of the progress Chukwueze should have made following the side’s 2-0 defeat to Villareal on Saturday.
Emery said: “Those are positive things we found in the game. For Samu to return after the important injury. In Bilbao, it cost him a little more and now he has had more minutes. We are finding Samu’s qualities. ”
In the meantime, Chukwueze has been part of the squad named by the Super Eagles’ coach, (Gernot Rohr) to face Liberia and Cape Verde in the next rounds of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
