The Nigeria national women’s football team are terrified ahead of their clash with Cote d’Ivoire women in the final qualifying match of the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations’ championship.

Randy Waldrum’s team and Lady Elephant will compete to secure a place at the Africa Cup of Nations which Morocco will host in July this year.

The first leg of the competition has been scheduled to take place at the MKO Abiola Stadium, next week.

The returning leg will not be played until the 23rd of February and the match will hold at the Stade Robert Champroux in Abidjan.

Ivory Coast crushed the Nigerian team out of the Women’s Football Tournament of the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2019.

Super Falcons beat Ghana Black Queens 2-1 to make it to the last stage of the qualifier.

The Lady Elephants trounced their rivals from Niger Republic 20-0, with 9-0 in the first leg and 11-0 in the second.

That said, the Super Falcons and the officials of the team have been having sleepless night in preparation for the Friday’s battle, the Guardian can confirm.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, is also contributing its own part by recruiting more technical officials and players to ensure that the Falcons emerge victors on Friday.

The Falcons will however, hope to take revenge of the 2019 disappointment in next week’s contest.
