Anxiety has grown among residents of Omi Adio community in Ibadan, Oyo State, following the killing of four residents by suspected armed robbers.

Around 7 pm on Friday, armed robbers stormed the Alade-Owo Estate community in Omi-Adio, Ido Local Government Area.

According to sources, the four people were killed while attempting to flee the scene of an operation.

One of the victims was a commercial motorcycle rider.

They were killed by gunmen who shot indiscriminately as they fled the community.

The armed robbers, said to be three in number, were said to be fleeing after an operation and shooting at the victims while attempting to clear their way towards the community’s linked tarred road.

Some residents revealed that the robbers who stormed the community on a motorcycle had previously attacked the home of a Point of Sales (POS) operator in the area.

According to reports, the armed robbers stole an unspecified amount of money.

Efforts to get a response from the state police command’s Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, were futile, as an SMS text sent to him had not been responded to as of the time of filing this report.
