A tragic incident occurred in Kawon Maigari, Kano State, as Umar Ayuba, a 37-year-old man, lost his life in a well.
The Kano State Fire Service spokesperson, Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed the unfortunate event, which took place on Tuesday evening.
Abdullahi narrated that Ayuba was asked to assist in retrieving women’s wrappers that had fallen into the well.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of oxygen, he suffocated inside.

Immediate action was taken, and he was rushed to the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital.
However, upon arrival, a doctor on duty sadly pronounced him dead.
The Fire Service Spokesman added that Insp Adamu Sani of Hotoro Police Division was entrusted with handling the situation.
He said:
“We received an emergency call at about 5:20 p.m. from one Mamuda Abdallah, who said that a man had been trapped inside a well.
“We immediately sent our rescue team to the scene at about 5:32 p.m.
“He was brought out of the well unconscious and handed over to Insp. Adamu Sani of Hotoro Police Division.”
