Chuks Ibegbu, a chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has labeled the duo of Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar as distractions in the 2023 presidency race.
Ibegbu, in an interview with Daily Post said the duo was insensitive to the nation’s demand for political justice.
The former Deputy National Public Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo also rubbished claims that Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was a threat to Igbo presidency in 2023.

Ibegbu’s comments are coming on the heels of a statement by the pioneer National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chekwas Okorie, who listed Tinubu and Atiku as a threat to the pursuit of Igbo presidency in 2023.
Okorie exercised doubts about an Igbo man clinching the presidential ticket of either the PDP or APC if Tinubu and Atiku remain in the race.
Ibegbu, however, noted that the presidential ambitions of Tinubu and Atiku were in opposite direction with the demands for justice and equity across the country.
He questioned the rationale behind both men contesting for the 2023 presidency.
“They are not threats but distractions and arbiters of injustice. They are clearly insensitive to the mood of the nation.
“Their ambition runs contrary to the mood of the nation for political justice and equity. Why must Atiku or Tinubu be overly ambitious to rule Nigeria in the past? What record did they keep in the past?
“Nigerians will decide if the nation will be the world capital of injustice and poverty as well.”
