The Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, on Tuesday, announced a suspension of its operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route indefinitely.

The NRC made the disclosure via tweet on its official Twitter handle @Official_NRC.

According to the statement, suspension was largely due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

“Dear passengers, due to unforeseen circumstances, Train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route has been temporarily suspended. Further communication would be given in due course.”

Daily Report Nigeria had reported the incident on how the terrorists bombed the Abuja-Kaduna rail tracks, an attempted to kidnap the passengers in futility.

The attack was quickly repelled by a swift intervention by men of the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Air Force.

The attack came barely 48 hours after gunmen invaded the Kaduna International Airport, preventing a loaded aircraft from taking off.
