Sources has it that the bus driver, who was on top speed, lost control and rammed into the Highlander from behind, crashed and both vehicles caught fire.

Five persons compromising two male adults and three female adults were involved in the crash.

As of the time of filing this report, the men of the state fire service have been able to put out the fire.

The rescue team of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC from RS5.3 Sector Command, Awka was on ground to manage traffic and ensure the obstruction caused by the crash is removed.

The state Sector Commander, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, commiserated with the families of the dead victims and warned motorists in the state to avoid overspeeding.

“Speed drills, but kills, check your speed and not your watch. Let us keep our road safe from a crash,” he warned.
