Young Ijaw high life musical maestro, Prince Smally Okpe, the Fare Pere 1, has congratulated former Niger Delta militant leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo Oweizide, alias TOMPOLO, on his acquittal by the Federal High Court of Lagos.

Tompolo who had been long declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over a forty-count fraud allegations to the tune of ₦45.9billiom was declared free by Justice Ibrahim Buba on Wednesday.
The sitting led by Justice Abrahim Buba at the Federal High Court in Lagos stated that the GOC has no case to answer.

Prince Smally in reacting to the news of Tompolo’s acquittal, labeled the ex-militant leader a saint in the eyes of God, and as such, the judgement was long overdue.
The Fare Pere further expressed deep appreciation to all sons and daughter of Ijaw Nation, who stood firmly behind the GOC during the cause of the masterminded trial, saying that Almighty Egbesu has vindicated him.
The dropping of the charges against the former militant leader alongside former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Patrick Akpolokemi came on the heels of a 21-day joint ultimatum issued by the Ijaws of Gbaramatu kingdom and their Itsekiri oil bearing brothers.
Other defendants who benefited from the acquittal judgement were Kime Engozu, Rex Elem, Gregory Mbonu,Warredi Enisuoh, Odimiri Electrical Ltd, Boloboere Property and Estate Ltd, and Destre Consult Ltd.
Another noteworthy event that followed the 21-day ultimatum was the passing to law of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, by the Senate on Wednesday.
