A great avalanche of defection hit the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State.
Among the defectors are; running mate to Senator Ademola Adeleke in the 2018 Osun State governorship election, Mr. Albert Adeogun, and a PDP factional Osun state chairman , Wale Ojo.
Other notables names include, Mr. Ayodele Asalu, a House of Representatives aspirant in Ede Federal Constituency on the platform of PDP and Soji Ibikunle.

The decampees announced their switch to the All Progressives Congress during a rally on Tuesday at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Receiving the new members, the APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, commended the defectors for taking the right decision to join the ruling party.
He said, “We have received you wholeheartedly and welcomed you into an atmosphere of equality and justice.
“We invite you to join hands with us and let us work together for the development of our beloved Osun and our nation.”
Me Ojo, who spoke on behalf of all the defectors, said their decision was premised on the need to align with a symbol of excellence and progress in Governor Oyetola.
