A soldier has reportedly killed three Beninoise in Babana, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The council Chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Yarima, who appealed to the people of Babanna to remain calm said the incident is currently being investigated by the Nigerian army.
A resident, Audu Alkali, said the three victims were a man, his wife and their baby.

He said,
“The soldier killed three people, a man, his wife, and their baby when they went to Babanna Market from Niganji, Benin Republic, to trade. The incident happened on their way back.
“The man and the soldier were engaged in an argument when the soldier threatened the man with a gun. In the process, he shot the man, killing the three of them on the spot.”
Yarima added that a delegation had been sent to Benin Republic to console with the family of the deceased, adding that investigation was ongoing.
