Gunmen on Wednesday morning kidnapped a pastor with the Evangelic Church Winning All (ECWA), Usman Umaru, in the Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau state.
According to report, the cleric was abducted alongside two other persons when the gunmen attacked his church located in Maigemu community in the early hours of Wednesday.
A resident of the community who comfirmed the incident said the attackers stormed the community on motorcycles at about 6:00 a.m., headed to the church building, and whisked away the cleric in the presence of his family members.
Security operatives who were contacted had been combing the bushes in the council area to rescue the kidnap victims.
The spokesman for the state police command, Alfred Alabo, while confirming the incident, said the operatives are on the kidnappers’ trail.
