Abductors Of 15 Almajiri Children Demands Ransom – Police

The Sokoto State Police Command confirmed that the suspected terrorists who abducted 15 Almajiri children and a woman in Gidan Bakuso village, Gada Local Government Area (LGA) have demanded a ransom.

According to the police, the terrorists contacted the teacher of the Tsangaya school from which the children were taken demanding a ransom of N20 million for the children’s release.

However, the Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) clarified that the terrorists made contact and demanded ransom without specifying an amount.

ASP Ahmad Rufai, speaking over the phone with Channels TV stated that the terrorists reached out to the Tsangaya school teacher seeking a ransom.

Rufai added that the call was abruptly terminated due to the terrorists’ low battery.

In the early hours of Saturday, 16 individuals, including 15 Almajiri children and an elderly woman were kidnapped during a raid by the suspected terrorists.
