British actor Bernard Hill, renowned for his iconic roles in ‘Titanic’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings,’ has died at the age of 79.
The news was confirmed by his agent, Lou Coulson, who stated that Hill passed away on Sunday morning, surrounded by his fiancée Alison and his son Gabriel.
Hill gained fame with his role in the 1982 BBC drama ‘Boys from the Blackstuff.’ He later achieved international stardom by playing Captain Edward Smith in the 1997 blockbuster ‘Titanic’ and King Théoden in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy.
