According to him, Simi often steps in during his studio sessions to add her own touch, especially when she’s handling the mixing of his songs. “My partnership with Simi is very seamless,” Adekunle Gold said. “When I made the song Don Corleone, she was listening and came up with an idea to add something to the chorus. She just went, ‘Go Kunle,’ and that was it, simple and smart.”
He went on to explain that Simi occasionally adds background vocals or harmonies when mixing his songs, even without his presence, and that those small additions often bring life to the track. “Sometimes when I send my song to Simi to mix, she just does what the song needs, backups or minor tweaks and it always works out perfectly,” he added.
On their mutual creative exchange, Adekunle mentioned that he also provides feedback on Simi’s songs whenever she sends him her drafts. “When she writes and sends her songs to me, I tell her what I think she should add, and it’s always easy,” he said.
