The 33rd African Cup of Nations’ hosts, Senegal were sent crashing out by Mohamed Salah’s team, Egypt on Thursday, 3rd of February.

Egypt were fortunate to have claimed the victory after a goalless draw in the entire 90 minutes of the AFCON’s semi-final.

Carlos Queiroz’s side edged past António da Silva Oliveira’s team 3-1 on penalties.

Kudos to two big saves by the Egypt shot-stopper, Mohamed Abou Gabal during the penalty shootout.

Salah will therefore go head-to-head with club-mate, Sadio Mane in Sunday’s final clash between Egypt and Senegal.

Senegal booked their place in the final of the tournament having gotten the better of Burkina-Faso in a 3-1 triumph on Wednesday, 2nd.

The Pharaohs put the shame of 2017 final behind them with yesterday’s victory at Stade Olembe.

Meanwhile, Egypt were beaten as Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar goal helped the Indomitable Lions to claim the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations trophy.

During yesterday’s clash, Egypt manager, Carlos Queiroz was sent off by the Gambian referee, Bakary Papa Gassama over slamming AFCON’s officials.
