Gambia and Tunisia have both been dumped out of the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON on Saturday, 29th.

Both the Scorpions and Mondher Kebaier’s side succumbed to defeats to be crashed out of the tournament at the quarter-final stage.

The hosts, Cameroon defeated Tom Saintfiet’s team 2-0 as Burkina Faso spanked Tunisia in a 1-0 trimph.

Toni Conceição’s men secured the victory through Karl Toko Ekambi’s double goals at seven minutes interval with the first in the 50th minute.

On the other hand, Dango Ouattara scored the only goal which gave his side the lead over Eagles of Carthage in the last minute of the first half.

Meanwhile, the Stallions were reduced to 10-men in the 83rd minute but Tunisia could not seize the opportunity to find atleast an equalizer.

Recall, Tunisia eliminated the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the round of 16 with a thin 1-0 .

Perhaps, yesterday’s defeat to Burkina may bring smile back to Nigerian faces who have been let down since Eagles’ elimination.

The 5x Africa Cup of Nations winners will therefore, face the winner between Egypt and Morocco as today’s result may decide.

Burkina who have also secured a place in the semi-final will be heading on either Senegal or Equatorial Guinea after their quarter-final clash this night.
