Ighalo Set to Join New Club Following AFCON 2021 Snub

Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo is reportedly ready to depart Al Shabab.

According to the Italian football expert, Fabrizio Romano, the former Watford star will switch Al Shabab for a rival club.

Romano said Al-Hilal which also competes in the Saudi Arabian League are ready to welcome the Nigerian forward as a replacement for Bafétimbi Gomis.

Romano revealed this via his verified Twitter page today, Saturday.

The football expert added that the 32-year-old has agreed on personal terms in a contract that will last in June 2023.

Romano wrote: “Al Hilal are set to sign former Watford and Man United striker Odion Ighalo. Agreement reached on personal terms, contract until June 2023.”

“Final details and the official announcement in place. Ighalo will be Al Hilal replacement for Gomis.”

Ighalo joined Al Shabab on February 2021, after having penned down a two-and-half-year deal with the club.

Meanwhile, Péricles Chamusca’s side blocked the Lagos-born from playing for Nigeria at the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

Ighalo who made his debut for the Nigeria national team in March 2015 against Uganda has also played for Manchester United in the 2020-2021 season.
