Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh has named the favourite team to win the 2021 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Cameroon.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are in Group ‘D’ alongside Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau in the competition that is billed to take off on January 9, 2022.

The retired giant midfielder has chosen Nigeria one of the favourites to lift the trophy in Cameroon.

The 47-year-old added that the Super Eagles have the talents to win the trophy, reason they shouldn’t be written of as winners.

The former Juventus star revealed this while Speaking at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Thursday.

Oliseh said following inauguration of the 10-Year NFDMC: “Nigeria should not be written off as regards winning the AFCON because we have the talent to win the trophy.”

“Nigerians should stop underrating our team. We are one of the favourites to win the trophy.”

He added: “The players must rise to the occasion, and with little luck, they are capable of winning and making Nigeria proud. Don’ t write the Eagles off.”
