The President of the Federal Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall has declared Monday a public holiday.
The holiday is dedicated to celebrating Senegal’s first ever African Cup of Nations title.
Senegal forward, Sadio Mane scored the winning spot-kick after missing one in the opening minutes of the match to help the team lift their first AFCON trophy.

According to RTS, the number one citizen of the country will today welcome Aliou Cissé and his men on their arrival to Dakar.
Last night, the Lions of Teranga got over the Pharaohs of Egypt with a scoreline of 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw at the end of 120 minutes.

Sall will therefore award all the players who represented his country at the just concluded 33rd edition of AFCON at the presidential palace in Dakar, tomorrow Tuesday.
RTS said: “The President of the republic declared Monday a public holiday, a paid day off, following the brilliant victory of the Lions.”
Meanwhile, the Liverpool star, Mane was named the top player in the tournament.
Mane’s countryman, Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper, Édouard Mendy was also awarded the best goalkeeper of the African competition.
