Alabini Mega Sports Festival to Begin Today

The maiden edition of the much anticipated Alabini Mega Sports Festival will kickoff today, Sunday, December 8, 2024.

The competition is organized by the offices of the Vice President Alabini Youth Council in collaboration with the Assistant Secretary of Ijaw Youth Council, Iduwini Clan.

The opening ceremony of the historic football tournament will be held at Egbemo Angalabiri Tera Lion stadium.

The opening match will see Egbema Angalabiri take on Azagbene in what promises to be a tantalising encounter.

The competition sponsored by the Safe and Better Nigeria, a non-governmental organization, is aimed at unearthing talented footballers from the area.

SBN National Coordinator, Comrade Solomon Ikpaka Charles, said the tournament will be a ground to discover future stars of the round leather game.

Aside from football, other sporting activities include draught games and 100-metre race.

The tourney will begin on December 8 with a grand finale scheduled for December 28, 2024.
