AFCON Qualifiers: CAF Approves Abuja, Uyo Super Eagles

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja and Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, as home venues for Super Eagles ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Actions will take place next month, with the Super Eagles set to take on fellow West Africans, Guinea-Bissau in a double header.

Jose Peseiro’s side takes charge in Group B with six points after registering a win in their two opening games against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe.

24 countries will to play their home games at a neutral venue after their home grounds were not approved by CAF.

North African giants, Egypt (six) and Algeria (five) have the highest number of approved stadiums.

The 2023 AFCON will be staged in Cote d’Ivoire.
