He will wear the No.9 shirt at Anfield and has signed a six-year contract.
Isak said he was “thrilled to be here,” proud to join the club and “eager to get back to work” – promising to give everything for the team and aiming to win trophies.
Immediately he becomes Liverpool’s focal point up front and is expected to lead the line.
Meanwhile, a proposed £35m move for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi collapsed late despite the player undergoing a medical.
Guehi, 25, held talks with manager Oliver Glasner and will remain at Selhurst Park; with one year left on his contract he is reportedly disappointed the transfer fell through.
The Alexander Isak transfer brings an end to a protracted saga that included a strike at St James’ Park.
He left Newcastle with 62 goals in 109 appearances and arrived at Liverpool as the Reds target major honours this season.
