Former Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has spoken out about his role in the ongoing dispute between Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Ltd and the Nigerian government, which has led to the seizure of three presidential jets.

Amosun explained that the dispute stemmed from a contract revocation in 2016 during his tenure as governor. He stated that Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Ltd had volunteered damaging information about the original joint venturer, Guangdong Province, China, and had requested to be appointed as Interim Zone Managers.

However, it was later discovered that the information provided by Zhongshan was false, and the company was subsequently served with a formal Termination Notice in 2016.

Amosun emphasized that the Nigerian government should not negotiate with Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Ltd, as it would be inappropriate to indulge an unlawful entity.

He also stated that the matter should be treated similarly to the P&ID case.
