The president of the Anti-cult Volunteers Corps in Delta state, Amb Austyne Emu is dead, Daily Report Nigeria can confirm.

Amb Austyne was reportedly shot dead on Saturday night by unknown gunmen during a visit to Kwale.

A check through his social media page where he consistently issue statements on the group’s activities, suggests he was a guest at the opening ceremony of the Umusagede Unity cup in Kwale before the sad incident occured.

Austyne’s death has since been mourned by many friends, families and colleagues including the President of the Urhobo Progressive Union, Youth Wing, Comrade Umukoro Efemena.

Comrade Efemena had lauded the late Austyne for the partnership the latter had provided his administration hours before the sad incident.

“GOD BLESS Austyne Emu President Anti Cult Delta state for Partnering with Me ! All we do is to settle troubled community and ensure there is peace and harmony amongst Youths .

In lamenting Austyne’s death, Efemena wrote;

Another post on the Commander’s social media handle reads: “A true hero has fallen, what a life..insecurity in Nigeria is getting out of hands..

“RIP bro a true fighter..”

The Delta State Police Command was yet to issue a statement on Austyne’s death as at press time.
