Robbers Steal Cleric’s Car at Gunpoint in Church

Armed robbers in the late hours of Tuesday, February 8, invaded an church and made away with the Priest’s car.

The preist, Rev. Canon Chibueze, was robbed right inside the church compound.

The incident was said to have occurred at the St. Thomas Anglican Church, Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The men were said to have held the priest at gunpoint before taking away his Army-green coloured Toyota Highlander SUV with registration number GGE 195 FX, they also made away with some of the his valuables.

Don Adinuba, the state Commissioner for Information and Enlightenment, disclosed the information to newsmen on Tuesday evening, stating that the priest lost vital documents, which were also taken away with the car.

The message read, “An army green Toyota Highlander Jeep with registration number GGE 195 FX was stolen at gunpoint inside the vicarage of St Thomas Anglican Church, Oba (Idemili-South LGA, Anambra State) (8th February 2022). Other valuables belonging to Revd Cannon Chibueze Abone were also taken away.

“Please, any information leading to the recovery of the jeep should be made known to the nearest police station or contact Rev’d Cannon Abone on 08038894070. Thanks.”
