The Chief Executive Officer of Aero Contractors, Ado Sanusi, has said that any passenger who sneezes on the plane will be viewed and treated as a COVID-19 case.

While speaking during a media live programme, he said that passengers who have malaria must present their COVID-19 test results to prove they are not a carrier of the pandemic virus (COVID-19), also stating that ordinary doctor’s report will not be accepted.

According to Sanusi, any individual suspected of COVID-19 would such be isolated. He enjoined malaria patients not to come to the airport as there is a high possibility of being denied boarding.

“If we see anybody sneezing, we will take him as an index passenger; we are not going to say he or she has allergies. We are going to take the person as index passenger till we have handed them over to port health officials. They will be the ones to determine if he is allergic or has COVID-19,” He said.

He further enjoined ill people to stay at home and not travel by air.

This is coming after the Federal Government’s approval of resumption of domestic flight operations in the country, with effect from July 8, in Lagos and Abuja.
