The Zamfara state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly condemned the violent attack on its state secretariat by protesters.

In a statement released on Monday in Gusau, the State APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, revealed the party’s outrage and disappointment at the incident.

Idris recalled that the APC had earlier warned the state government against allowing thugs to hijack the protests and target the party and its leaders.

He recalled that similar incidents had occurred recently, including an attack on the residence of Senator Sahabi Ya’u in Kaura Namoda and an attempt to burn down the residence of former Governor Bello Matawalle in Gusau.

The party had also appealed to security agencies to ensure the protection of lives and property.

However, despite these efforts, the protesters violently broke into the APC secretariat on Monday, causing extensive damage and looting equipment and valuables.

Idris described the incident as “unacceptable and condemnable” and called on security agencies to immediately apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators.

He urged party members, supporters, and well-wishers to remain peaceful and law-abiding.
