APC Primaries: Group Calls For Unity in Edo | Daily Report Nigeria

A youth group of the All Progressives Congress, under the the aegis of All Progressives Congress’ Patriots, has called for unity among party members in Edo State.

The Patriots, in a call by its convener, Shehu Momodu, urged members of the party to collapse structures towards fighting as a united front, following the conclusion of primary elections for house of assembly, national assembly and governorship aspirants.

Momodu described the outcome of the primaries as no winner, no vanquished, stressing that only the APC and democracy won.

He wrote;

“With the just concluded APC Primary Elections in Edo State for the various political offices where candidates have emerged, the stage is now set,

“At this stage, I want to thank most sincerely members of the APC across the state who for standing firm with the party.

“Despite what might have happen during the primary elections we must come together as one united family.

“It is time we come together and embrace peace. Those of our members who supported any other candidates have their rights to choose whom to support.

“Even the aspirant themselves Exercise their constitutional rights and as such we should not begrudge them.

“Let no one be deceived, the coming elections are going to be tough in Edo state. We shall require a United house to face our common enemy the PDP

‘As such the leaders and the entire APC members must close ranks and engage with each in wooing our party members men and women to come under one umbrella.

“We cannot afford to to throw away the baby and the bath water. It is my appeal that we reduce all antagonistic posts on social media and instead post more comments that will unite us.

“In the primaries, there were no losers and no Winners. In all, APC and democracy won.
