He originally left Bournemouth to join Sheffield United in 2020. According to the deal, Bournemouth is entitled to a 15 percent sell on any sale over £19m. The 23-year-old’s arrival at the Emirates Stadium would likely see backup goalkeeper Alex Runarsson exit from the club.

In the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday, Ramsdale was left out of the Sheffield United squad to face West Brom. Blades boss Slavisa Jokanovic made a statement of why they didn’t use Aaron in the game, saying he felt he was not ready for the game. So, it was decided that he won’t be used for the game, adding  Ramsdale was simply not in the right state of mind, and preferred not to complicate things, and went with Mike (Verrips) for the game.

What has he achieved?

From U18 to U21 level for England, Ramsdale had been capped. He rejoined Sheffield United last summer in an £18.5m deal from relegated Bournemouth. Despite their relegation last term, he was Sheffield United’s player of the season. History got repeated as the same was the case in his final season at Bournemouth in 2019/20. Although Ramsdale was part of England’s Euro 2020 squad which reached the final stage, he is yet to make his full international debut.

He and Martin Odegaard will meet at the Emirates after the Norway international agreed a £30m move from Real Madrid to join the Gunners.

How has been Arsenal’s transfer activity

Barcelona has shown interest in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal. The La Liga club is willing to offer former Liverpool midfielder, Philippe Coutinho, in part exchange for the Arsenal captain. Currently, there is a three-year deal with Arsenal which Auba signed last year which is valid until 2024. The Captain was absent at the Gunners’ opening day of the Premier League encounter with Brentford, which Arsenal lost.

The 32-year-old, who joined Arsenal for a then club-record fee in the region of £60m in January 2018, scored 15 goals for the North London club last season as Mikel Arteta’s side missed out on European qualification for the first time in 25 years.
