Super Falcons legend Asisat Oshoala has been named the Saudi Women’s Premier League Player of the Month for September 2025, marking a brilliant start to her career in the Middle East.

The six time African Women’s Footballer of the Year joined Al Hilal after guiding Nigeria to victory at the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco last July.

The 30-year-old striker, who previously starred for Arsenal, Barcelona, and BAY FC, wasted no time in showing her authority on Saudi football.

In her first month, Oshoala scored three goals and provided two assists to help Al Hilal maintain a perfect record of three wins from three matches without conceding a goal.

Oshoala secured 37,560 votes (56%) to win the Player of the Month award, finishing ahead of Moroccan forward Ibtissam Jraidi of Al Ahli, who polled 44%, while Al Nassr striker Clara Luvanga managed just 1%.

Her impressive form comes after a summer of international success, where she scored Nigeria’s opening goal in their 3-0 win against Tunisia on July 6 at WAFCON.

Oshoala went on to win her fourth continental title as the Super Falcons beat hosts Morocco 3-2 in a dramatic final.
