Atiku visits IBB in Minna | Daily Report Nigeria

Former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has paid a visit to former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, at his Uphill residence in Minna, Niger State.

The meeting lasted about an hour, with neither party disclosing the purpose of the visit.

However, it was gathered that the visit was not unrelated to the former Vice President’s Presidential ambitions, for which he is still conducting extensive consultations.

Atiku, who has yet to make a formal declaration, ran for President twice on the People Democratic Party’s (PDP) platform but failed both times.

From the Hilltop, Atiku drove to Government House and visited the state Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello.

In a brief interview with journalists following the visit, the former Vice President stated that he was in Government House to express his condolences to the Governor over the state’s ongoing insecurity, particularly in recent months.

“I only came to pay a courtesy call to the Governor and to express my condolences to him and the people of Niger State regarding the ongoing banditry in the state.”

“I just spoke with the Governor about the state’s insecurity, and from what I’ve heard, it’s a very serious and pathetic situation that is most unfortunate,” Atiku declared.

When asked about his presidential ambitions, Atiku stated that he would make his intentions clear when the time comes.

“I’m only here for a short visit.” “I will inform you of my Presidential ambitions at the appropriate time,” he stated.
