No fewer than 80 children have been abducted by bandits in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

It was gathered that the children who were between the ages of 12 and 17 were kidnapped on Friday morning.

In interviews with the BBC Hausa, some of the parents of the abducted children said the victims were in the bush fetching firewood at about 8am when the assailants rounded them up and marched them into the forest.
