Bandits Kill Over 40 in Plateau Village | Daily Report Nigeria

On Monday, May 20, 2024, a devastating attack occurred in Zurak village, located in the Bashar District of Plateau State were bandits reportedly killed over 40 people.

Bandits, arriving on motorcycles in pairs, descended upon Zurak around 5 pm when residents were engaged in their daily activities.

It was said that the Armed Group, wielding sophisticated weapons, unleashed a hail of bullets also on vigilantes who had been working to protect the village.

Reports held that the attack caught the community off guard, and due to the poor communication network in the area, news of the incident was slow to reach the nearest police station.

Sahpi’i Sambo, a youth leader in the area described the attack as “deadly” while stressing that the Bandits arrived on motorcycles, shooting sporadically.

Sambo said:

“More than 40 people were killed while many injured. Residents of the village have fled to neighbouring communities for cover.

“As of yesterday, security personnel had not yet arrived at the community. It was deadly.”
