Barrister Smooth: Pondi Cancels Inauguration Party in Honour of Accident Victims

The lawmaker representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Julius Pondi has called off his inauguration party earlier scheduled for Tuesday June 13.

According to the lawmaker, the cancellation is in honour of five members of the Barrister Smooth music crew, who died in fatal acci
In a statement on Monday,

Daily Report Nigeria reported that the victims namely Ikesima Brown, Joseph Ekeremieye, Appah Appah, Tuku Tebekaimi and Marian died on Sunday along the Abuja-Lokoja road.

They were billed to perform at a ceremony on Tuesday in the Federal Capital Territory.

Reacting to the tragic incident, Pondi said the decision to call off the celebration was a mark of respect to Smooth and his late crew members.

The statement read;

“This is to notify the general public, especially my constituents that the inauguration party earlier scheduled for tomorrow has been officially called off.

“This is to honour the memories of those who lost their lives in the ill fated fatal accident involving members of the Barrister Smooth Musical band.

“Barrister Smooth has been a very close friend and ally and I am personally close to virtually every member of his musical band, hence I am poised to call it off as a mark of respect for my fallen friends whose melodious voices resonances in my ears till this minute.

“This unfortunate incident marks a sad and grieving moment for me, my political family and the entire Ijaw nation; I pray God to grant Barrister Smooth, members of his musical organization, families of the deceased, fans of the barrister Smooth musical organization, and the entire ijaw nation the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss of our dearly beloved ones.

“I also pray for the quick recovery of my friend, Mr. Ebisine Awiki and others who survived the accident.”
