INC Condoles With Barrister Smooth, Bayelsans as Multiple Crashes Claim 9 Lives

The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has condoled with musical icon, Chief Barrister Smooth over the demise of his crew members.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that five members of Barrister Smooth Band died on Sunday following an auto crash along the Abuja-Lokoja road.

The apex Ijaw body also extended condolences to the Bayelsa State Government and citizens over the demise of four supporters of Bayelsa Queens Football Club.

The supporters were involved in a fatal accident along the Kwale-Asaba road on Sunday in Delta State.

In a statement on Monday by the its National Publicity Secretary, the INC described both incidents as a ‘rude shock’ for Ijaw nation.

The statement read;

With heavy heart, the President of the Ijaw National Congress, INC, Prof. Benjamin Okaba, on behalf of the Ijaw nation and National Executive Council (NEC) of the foremost Ijaw socio-cultural organization wishes to express condolences to Barrister Smooth and the families of the victims of the Barrister band, who lost their lives in a fatal accident on their way to Abuja

“The news of the death of the five persons of the band came as a rude shock.

“These were young stars that were making great impacts in the entertainment industry, particularly in the Ijaw nation

“We also extend our condolences to the Bayelsa State Government and the Management of Bayelsa Queens Football Club over the demise of four of their supporters.

“The Ijaw nation will sorely miss them. We pray to God to give the immediate families the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and for a speedy recovery of those that are in admission in the hospital.

“May their souls rest in perfect peace, Amen.”
