The aide complained that he should be paid and that his wife and four children had not eaten for four days, that he needed to send money to his family.

Thinking Wilson Ayakpo would be reasonable enough to do the needful, he went haywire and turned his aide to a punching bag, beating him with clubs and woods.

Meshack is said to be receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Warri, while the assault has since been reported at the Azikoro police station for further investigation.

The victim’s family has since called on the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police to get Hon. Wilson Ayakpo arrested and make him face the full wrath of the law.

They further called on the speaker of the Bayelsa House of Assembly to suspend the lawmaker for his uncultured and uncivilized actions without further delay.

The family also demanded that he (Meshach) should be paid his four months outstanding salaries with immediate effect.

Attempts to contact Hon. Willson Ayakpo Dauyegha proved abortive as calls put through him were never taken or responded to.
