Benue: Another Group Backs Call To Prosecute George Akume

Benue Youth Forum has backed the state government in its call to probe former governor of the state, George Akume over alleged N4.6bn fraud.

The state government had earlier asked anti-corruption agencies to investigate and prosecute Akume, who is now minister of special duties and intergovernmental affairs over the allegation.

In a statement, Terrence Kuanum, president of the Benue Youth Forum, urged the anti-graft agencies to act on petitions submitted by the state government.

Kuanum said: “We urge the EFCC to immediately swing into action and get to the root of the matter so that justice will be done to the people of Benue bearing in mind that no one is above the law,”
