Governor Mai Mala Buni on Yobe State has escaped death following an attack on his convoy by members of Boko Haram sect.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that Governor Buni’s convoy was attacked by the terrorists on Saturday along the Maiduguri-Kano express way.
The incident took place after the governor’s convoy was returning from the 24th convocation of the University of Maiduguri.
Buni’s convoy was ambushed by the terrorists who fired sporadically from both sides of the road heading to Damaturu.

“We left Maiduguri very late, around 6.00 pm after Magrib prayer,” a source told newsmen.
“We were discussing and laughing when we were attacked along Beneshiekh and Mainok, after attending the 24th convocation of the University of Maiduguri.
