A boy identified simply as Kido in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, has been arrested for the alleged murder of his father.

It was gathered that Kido allegedly stabbed his father to death on their farmland in Issele-Uku area.

According to a source in the community, the incident happened after his father confronted him for harvesting crops from his farmland without permission.

The source said;

“Kido stabbed his father to death and the community vigilantes have arrested him and handed him over to the police.

“But in his confession, the suspect said he did not stab his father but only used firewood on him in self-defence while he (father) threatened him (son) with a cutlass.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, while confirming the incident said the suspect is in custody and investigation is ongoing.

“The son was arrested immediately and he is in detention.

“They were quarrelling on the farm and unfortunately he killed his father.”
