Another set of Nigerians left stranded in the United Arab Emirates following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic have successfully been evacuated back to the country.
The new returnees bring the total number of evacuated Nigerians to 1,794 since the initiation of the evacuation of stranded Nigerians abroad by the federal government.

The new evacuees arrived Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory on Friday afternoon via an Emirates flight.

Before the arrival of the evacuees from the United Arab Emirates, a batch of 71 stranded Nigerians had arrived from Europe and Pakistan.
The arrival of the evacuees was announced by the Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) via a tweet on.
According to the tweet, the evacuees will undergo a 14 days compulsory self isolation in line with the new directive by the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19.
