A tanker conveying Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise known as fuel, has exploded at mile 2, Otto wharf, Lagos State.

This was revealed by Lagos State Emergency Management, saying it had activated its response plan to distress calls at the location.

LASEMA Spokesperson, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, warned citizens to stay clear from the scene of the explosion.

“Upon arrival at the scene by the agency response team, a fire outbreak from a fuel tanker and drums was encountered. It added that emergency responders “are currently battling the inferno to contain it.”

“Operation is still ongoing.

“Members of the public are to refrain from using any naked flame while motorists are to avoid the area,” he said.
