Incumbent Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade has lost his bid to secure the ticket of the All Progressive Congress for the state’s Northern Senatorial District.

In the result declared by the party, Cecilia Adams emerged winner after polling a total number of 140 votes, while Ayade came a distant 3rd position with just 52 votes.

Ayade, who had initially declared for presidential seat under the APC, has thus become the first seat governor to lose a primary election in Nigeria.
