A Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, has nullified the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The party held three parallel primaries as Hon. Ladi Adebutu emerged governorship candidate of one of the exercises.

Presiding judge, Justice Oguntoyinbo, also ordered a fresh primary election within a reasonable time to accommodate all interest groups.

The annulled suit was filed by Prince Adesegun Seriki and three others with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and PDP as first and second defendants.

The plaintiffs had sought the Court’s explicit order to enforce their rights as the rightful and legitimate PDP candidates for the 2023 general elections in Ogun State.
