Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected the bail application issued by embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

During its sitting on Tuesday, Justice Binta Nyako, the trial judge ordered an accelerated hearing of Kanu’s case related to treasonable felony.

In response to the ruling, Alloy Ejimakor, counsel to the separatist leader, made known his displeasure over the denial of the bail application.

Ejimakor further stated that they cannot proceed with the proceedings unless they have been given an opportunity to speak with their client.

He said:

It has been very difficult to have a meeting with Mr Kanu in the custody of the DSS, as their conversation with him, is always been monitored and Mr Kanu is still wearing the same outfit which the court ordered to be changed.”

Stay tuned for more details…
