The Federal High Court sitting in Damaturu has sacked Senate President, Ahmad Lawan as senatorial candidate of Yobe North.
The cour also ordered the All Progressives Congress and the Independent National Electoral Commission to recognise Bashir Machina as candidate for Yobe North senatorial candidate.

Presiding judge, Justice Fadima Murtala Aminu, annulled the parallel primary election that produced the Lawan as candidate on June 9, 2022.
The judge also ordered the APC to forward the name of Machina to INEC as the authentic winner of the primary held in May.
