This was confirmed by the DSS Director, Public Relations and Strategic Communications, Peyer Afunanya.
Recall that Bawa was sacked and arrested in June 2023 over financial misappropriation while in office.
He was probed by the new EFCC Chief, Ola Olukoyede, in 2019, over alleged sales of seized assets worth over N4.8 billion.
Bawa refused to employ legal services despite his detention and spent 134 in custody before his release on Wednesday.
