The immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has withdrawn from being a part of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.

DAILY REPORT NIGERIA reports El-Rufai announced his withdrawal as minister nominee during a meeting with Tinubu on Tuesday.

According to Premium Times, El-Rufai is said to have lost interest in becoming a minister but would continue to contribute to Nigeria’s development as a private citizen.

Nasir El-Rufai withdraw from being a part of President Bola Tinubu’s government after the Senate refused his confirmation as minister.

El-Rufai is also said to have demanded for time to focus on a doctorate degree programme in The Netherlands.

Meanwhile, the former governor nominated Jafaru Ibrahim Sani as his replacement for the Kaduna State ministerial slot.

Sani served under El-Rufai as commissioner overseeing three ministries.

El-Rufai was not confirmed as minister by the senate alongside three others, citing security reasons.
