A devastating fire ravaged a seven-storey building in Lagos, affecting several shops and causing widespread panic in the area.
Reports indicated that the incident occurred early Friday on Sanni Adewale Street in the Lagos Island Local Government Area of the state.
According to the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, firefighters from the Ebute Elefun, Sari, and Lekki 1 stations responded promptly to the distress call, arriving at the scene by 5:33 am.

The fire, which started around 5:17 am, destroyed items valued at millions of naira. However, thanks to the swift actions of the emergency officials, no casualties have been recorded.

Adeseye further stated that preliminary investigations suggest the fire was triggered by an electrical surge.
He also revealed that ventilation efforts are currently underway to ensure the safety of all in the area, adding that the situation is now under control, and the fire has been extinguished.
